Many believe that its most beneficial use is for internal cleansing by aiding in the elimination of intestinal parasites, which are not able to develop an immunity to the sharp edges of diatomaceous earth.
Diatomaceous Earth has a negative charge and bacteria has a positive charge, wherein it is believed by some that food grade diatomaceous earth sweeps bacteria out of the body by trapping it in its honeycomb shaped skeletal form.

As A Cleanser
Face Mask and Cleanser:
Mix Diatomaceous Earth and Water together until you have made a paste. Apply to the face with circular scrubbing motion untill face is fully covered. Leave on face for approx. 2 min. and then wash off with warm water. Your face will be fully exfoliated and toned for pennies!!! Mix Diatomaceous Earth with your favorite cleanser and you will have cleaner, smoother skin.
Make a paste with Diatomaceous Earth and water to make a metal polish. Diatomaceous Earth also makes a very inexpensive soft scrub for the shower, sink and faucets.
Use Diatomaceous Earth for control of roaches, silverfish, ants, bedbugs, flies, fleas, box elder bugs, scorpions, crickets, and many other insects. Diatomaceous Earth can be used in and around the home, yard, animal housing, etc. Diatomaceous Earth will not harm earthworms or beneficial soil microorganisms.
Food grade Diatomaceous Earth will not destroy earthworms, if applied to the top of the soil in worm farms and the worms are allowed to work it into the soil on their own. It is actually beneficial to the worms and compost just make sure to allow the worms to do the work and not bury them in the diatomaceous earth.
Outdoor Bugs Affected By Diatomaceous Earth:
Ants, fire ants, caterpillars, cut worms, army worms, fleas, ticks, cockroaches, snails, spiders, termites, scorpions, silverfish, lice, mites, flies, centipedes, earwigs, slugs, aphids, Japanese beetles (grub stage), bed bugs, fruit flies, corn earworm, cucumber beetles, corn borer, sting bugs, squash vine borers, thrips, loopers, etc., etc.
Pests that lay eggs may require a second application to catch the hatching eggs
Kittens - 1/4 teaspoon
Large cats - 1 teaspoon
Puppies - 1/2 to 1 tsp.
Dogs under 25 lbs. - 1 teaspoon
Dogs 25-50 lbs. – 2 -3 teaspoons
Dogs 50-100 lbs – 1-1 ½ tablespoons Dogs
Dogs over 100 lbs. - 2 tablespoons
